Installing your BobCAD-CAM Software

  • First you need to ensure that your computer is up to date, you should run a windows update and update your graphics card driver to the most recent version.
  • If you are installing on Microsoft Windows Vista, additional steps must be taken to set up software permissions. Instructions for modifying the permissions for the BobCAD software programs can be found here:
Running BobCAD-CAM Applications with Microsoft Windows Vista
Officially, all current versions of the BobCAD-CAM software work on Microsoft Windows Vista. However, it has been found in testing that due to the way that Microsoft Windows Vista handles OpenGL graphics, better performance may be attained by using Vista Home Premium or greater and not Vista Home Basic. (Computers with Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed are still available through many computer retail outlets.)
  • Insert the BobCAD-CAM disk into your CD drive and the software will automatically install. When BobCAD-CAM is started for the first time, the software will begin in a fully-functional mode for an initial 5-day period until the license is activated and registered.
  • If you are not using a USB hardware license key (Dongle), activate and register your license using the supplied Manual Registration Form.

    • If you have been supplied with a USB hardlock license key (Dongle), Close BobCAD-CAM and insert the dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
